We're excited to announce that LaSaundra Siddle will be joining the MCPS family as the new assistant principal at Martinsville High School! She succeeds Robert Dalton, who was named interim principal at Albert Harris Elementary School earlier this year.
Ms. Siddle brings more than 20 years of experience in education and leadership to Martinsville High School, including assistant principal, instructional leader, testing coordinator, and Career and Technical Education teacher. Most recently, she served as assistant principal at Morehead High School in Rockingham County, North Carolina, where she oversaw credit recovery and at-risk programs, mentored new teachers, supervised testing, and helped strengthen school operations and communication.
She previously served as assistant principal at Southeast College Prep Academy in Halifax County, North Carolina, where she led initiatives focused on school safety, restorative practices, teacher support, student achievement, and Career and Technical Education. Siddle also has ample classroom experience, having worked for 14 years teaching business education and coaching varsity athletics, helping students achieve success both in the classroom and on the court.
Ms. Siddle holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina Greensboro, a master’s degree from Duquesne University, and earned her school administrator license from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
"I am excited to join the team at Martinsville High School," Siddle said. "I look forward to being part of a school community that is committed to helping every student succeed, and to building strong relationships with our students, staff, families, and community while creating an environment where everyone feels supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.”
MCPS Superintendent Dr. Zebedee Talley Jr. said Siddle's experience and student-centered leadership make her an excellent addition to the school division.
"We are excited to welcome Ms. Siddle to Martinsville City Public Schools!" he said. "She brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership and a passion for student achievement. I know she will be a great asset to Martinsville High School students and staff."
