Martinsville High School recently inducted 36 new members into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) in a ceremony celebrating excellence in career and technical education.
The NTHS is an honor society that has recognized over 1 million outstanding career and technical education students nationwide since 1984. Membership is based on scholastic achievement, skill development, honesty, responsibility, leadership and other workplace values.
"This is an honor that you will carry with you throughout your education and career," said MHS CTE teacher and NTHS advisor Jennifer Wall.
During the ceremony, students recited the NTHS pledge vowing to uphold high standards of personal conduct, academic excellence and using their talents in meaningful careers that strengthen their communities.
The NTHS's slogan is "Excellence in America's workforce begins with excellence in workforce education." It awards nearly $300,000 in scholarships annually to members nationwide.
With over 3,900 chapters, NTHS honors the achievements of top career and technical education students and provides leadership opportunities in their chosen fields.
