A Message from the Superintendent

Dear Parents/Guardians:

The safety and well-being of our students and staff are of utmost importance and continue to be a priority for Martinsville City Public Schools. Discipline and school safety impact the educational process for our students and staff.  We must maintain an atmosphere where students can learn and feel safe. Over the last few weeks there has been an increase in physical altercations within our district.

In an effort to work closely with parents and guardians to ensure the safety of all students, any student who engages in physical conflict will be required to meet with me, along with the parents/guardians prior to returning to school. In addition, students will lose the privilege of participating in end-of-the-year activities.

I hope that each parent/guardian will take the time to discuss expectations for behavior at school and address these issues with their students at home. If I can be of assistance, please feel free to call me at 276-403-5821.

We are looking forward to ending the 2022-2023 school year safely and successfully.

Thank you,

Dr. Zebedee Talley, Jr.
